Wear |
It is the term used to indicate tread wear. There are different types of wear in relation to tyre use. |
| |
Wear indicators |
They consist of 1.6mm high rubber projections located in the main grooves of the tread (see TWI). |
| |
Wear regularity |
This means the attitude of a tyre to wear down more or less uniformly along the surface of the tread. |
| |
Wheelbase |
Distance between the rotation axles of the front and rear wheels. |
| |
Wheelbase |
Distance between the centre line axes of the front wheels. |
| |
Winter tyres |
They are characterised by tread patterns and compounds particularly suitable for giving road traction on snowy roads.
They can be identified by the marking M+S Mud and Snow. |
| |
Working temperature |
It is said that a loaded rotating tyre has reached a working temperature when the heat generated by the hysteresis phenomena becomes equal to the heat dispersed in the environment.
This dispersion only occurs when there is a heat jump between the internal temperature and the environment temperature. |
