Depth of the tread

According to the ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) it is difficult to determine a minimum thickness for the tread, which is valid for all types of tyre, under which the use of the tyres becomes dangerous.
The most recent models of tyres are supplied with wear indicators (at approximately 1.6 mm or 2/32" in the U.S.), to warn the user that the tyre is reaching its limit of use.
It would, in any case, be dangerous if drivers were to go on wet roads without any 'consideration', without limiting the speed, just because their tyres have not yet reached the point where they must be replaced.
The need to replace the tyres over time becomes more urgent for those who drive sports cars, considering their high performance and power.
The tread has a prominent or grooved pattern with the main purpose of ensuring maximum traction even on wet and slippery roads. Apart from the tread pattern model, the factors which most influence the traction of the tyre on the road are the construction characteristics of the tyre, the chemical composition of the tread compound, the road surface, the weather conditions, the mechanical characteristics of the vehicle, and the driving speed.
