FIA GT

One of the most prestigious sports car championships in the world, with races in Europe, Middle East, and China, the FIA GT is a core element of Pirelli's racing activity.

With hard fought competition between the tyre companies, some of Pirelli's best known championship victories have taken place in the FIA GT, in particular those with the Maserati MC12 - a partnership which exists to this day. But Pirelli is also racing in the series with Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin so there is a wide cross section of development.

Pirelli's support activity for FIA GT is not limited to just the supply of tyres, but also includes tyre development work for every Pirelli-shod car - regular and scrupulous test sessions on the eve of the championship, during the season and more.

Such intensive testing and development has not only brought Pirelli an impressive array of race results but also a significant amount of technology transfer into its road tyres.

FIA GT is comprised of two classes of car, GT1 and GT2. Both specifications are closely related to road going vehicles and therefore similar tyre technologies to those of Pirelli's P Zero road tyres are employed.
