Starcross 2010: MX1 World Champion Tony Carioli helps pack a weekend full of Pirelli victories
Mantua (Italy) February 7, 2010 - While less a thousand miles away the triumphs of the Pirelli SCORPION MX were being celebrated at to the legendary French Enduro of Le Tourquet with Mickael Pichon, in Italy this same success opened the MX season with Pirelli dominating both the MX1 and MX2 classes in the company of this year's World Motocross line-up of riders. Upon the impervious sands of the Mantua Starcross 2010, those bearing Pirellis were able to rely on the fantastic performances of grip and line-holding of the MidSoft 32 front and Soft 410 rear, developed and implemented specifically for yielding these kinds of results.

The race saw a splendid performance from reining MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli, who made his official debut with the KTM 350, suitably fitted with Scorpion MX tyres, already won the first two heats and finished third in the closing. Behind Cairoli finished familiar Pirelli riders Steve Ramon, Clement Desalle, and David Philippaerts, the last of whom was unable to do better than 10th. Pirelli swept even in MX2 class, where KTM's Shaun Simpson and current last season's MX2 champion Marvin Musquin were awarded to the first and second place. The day's focus was kept on the Scorpion MX when it also helped German Stephanie Laier to complete victory in the women's class.
