2006 Motocross of Nations


24 September 2006, Matterley Basin (England) - Team USA have won the 60th Motocross of Nation; a competition that gathers the best riders from across each country at the very highest level. The trio composed of James Stewart, Ivan Tedesco and Ryan Villopoto gained the best overall results even though Steve Ramon and Stefan Everts for Team Belgium using Pirelli Scorpion MidSoft 32 won the Open and MX1 respectively to earn the second step of the podium in front of New Zealand. The Italian squad was fourth thanks to the fantastic Antonio Cairoli and the steadfast David Philippaerts who made his debut in MX1 with 7th place in the first moto and then was third after a hard battlle in the second sprint, eventually crossing the line behind Stewart and Everts.
