Scorpion MX "takes it all" in pre-season MX races
Monday March 2nd 2009, Milan (Italy)
After Mantova Starcross (Italy, Feb.8th) and Valence International (France, Feb.22nd), Pirelli Scorpion MX completes the MX Opening Season by winning both Classes at the prestigious Hawkstone Park International in England.
Last Sunday, under perfect conditions and with a large crowd in attendance, Martin-Honda Team rider Marc de Reuver and Red Bull KTM rider Shaun Simpson, both on Pirelli Scorpion MX, won respectively MX1 and MX2 Class.

De Reuver, who took victory also last year in the same class, was again proving too good in the sand. Boosted by the paddle
SCORPION MX SOFT 410 rear, the flying Dutch finished with 1-3 results to lead home fellow Martin Honda team-mate Strijbos, who picked up 2-2 results. Third overall in MX1 was Teka Suzuki rider Steve Ramon who went 4-4. As the winner, also Strijbos and Ramon went for a Scorpion MX Mid Soft 32 front/Soft 410 rear choice, which proved to be the ideal set up for this kind of terrain.
Perfect weather and a very well prepared Hawkstone circuit made this the fourth International of the 2009 season a great day also for MX2 class: Shaun Simpson, the winner, is now becoming the big favorite for the MX2 World title, as he picked up his second International victory of the pre-season. The KTM rider knows the important part of the season begins in Faenza, Italy in four weeks time. As the second classified, Rui Goncalves, Simpson decided for a Mid-Soft 32 front and Mid-Soft Mud rear fitment. The SCORPION MX
MID-SOFT 32 MUD is the latest Pirelli innovation for Professional MX applications. With its
alternated paddle-like central knobs the MUD represents a great alternative to the Soft 410, when the terrain meets the target characteristics.
