Pirelli with 7th consecutive victory and 1-5 in final standings at the 2010 Enduropale du Touquet

Le Touquet Paris-Plage (France), 8th February 2010 - This weekend over 1,009 riders sweated and rode hard at the famous Enduropale du Touquet race in northern France. The race's 35th anniversary, organized in memory of rider Timoteï Potisek, truly challenged each participant from the beginning to end. In the end, Pirelli victory caps decorated the podium, confirming the Italian tyre company's off-road racing passions by taking all five of the top spots and sealing victory for the seventh consecutive year of this sand-filled race.

After the grueling 12-lap battle and with a very fast pace of 3.09'25'', Michaël Pichon (HONDA), victim of an injury just fifteen days ago in Hossegor, won the Enduropale du Touquet for the first time of his career, a win that he dedicated to his previous team mate, Tim Potisek.

From the very sand-laden start and under the overwhelming support of over 300,000 spectators in attendance at this mythical show, riders supplied by Pirelli held the lead. An early surprise came when Adrien Van Beveren (YAMAHA), a young 19-year-old French rider, caused quite the stir when he took the holeshot from eventual race winner Michaël Pichon (HONDA).

Holeshot winner Van Beveren (YAMAHA) went on to finish second place in the final ranking, passing the checkered flag just 3'26 behind the leader. However, the race's momentum seemed to be going the way of Jean-Claude Moussé (YAMAHA), who led most of the race until his clutch broke only two minutes before the end of the race, falling back to third in the ranks. Other notable performances came from Alexandre Morel (YAMAHA) who talked fourth, proceeded by Gautier Leclabart, a French rider supported by seven time Enduro du Touquet winner Arnaud Demeester.

From the beginning of the race, riders with Pirelli Scorpion MX SOFT 410 tyres quickly gained the lead and finished in a dominating five first places in the overall ranking, leaving also a seventh consecutive win for Pirelli Tyres at the Touquet.

Once again, the Pirelli Scorpion MX SOFT 410 emerged as race-proven tyres developed for sand tracks by demonstrating their traction, mileage and grip throughout this historic race.
