Hot Cure

The tread rubber, as an irawi compound, is applied to the casing and later vulcanized in a mould with the appropriate tread pattern.

The specific compounds used are formulated to reduce the thermal stress on the casing to a minimum thus ensuring optimum performance.

Ideal for frequent retreading, increased acceptance of retreadable casings, wide choice of specialized compounds according to use, and low cost.

Cold Cure

Specialized tread profiles, wider choice of tread patterns and groove depths, versatility and low cost.

The pre-cured (already vulcanized) tread rubber (Novateck) is bonded to the casing in an autoclave by means of a thin cushion of special gum compound. The depth of the grooves and the tread pattern restore the technological features of the Pirelli first life tyre.
