The launch of the new Cinturato P7 Pirelli between 1st and 9th April 2009 in Puglia region in Italy, has been a Zero Impact® event.
This means that CO2 emissions produced by this event have been offset thanks to the creation of a “Pirelli Forest 2009” counting 62,000 sqm of new forests in Costa Rica.
Zero Impact® by LifeGate is the first European project that carries out the intent of the Kyoto Protocol: it reduces CO2 emissions and offsets them by creating new forests.
Pirelli is not new to this type of initiatives: in 2008, for the launch of the products Cinturato P4 and P6, taking advantage from the initiative Zero® Impact, Pirelli committed to the reforestation of 20,000 sqm in the Parco del Ticino area.
